PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a database server and an information system permitting efficient conversion processing of data and improvement of maintainability as the entire system. SOLUTION: The database server 2 acquires master data accumulated in a backbone system 1 at prescribed timing, converts character code composing the acquired master data into character code readable by a terminal 4, and stores the master data composed of the converted character code in a database. Then, the database server 2, in response to a request from the terminal 4 or a Web server 3, reads out corresponding data from the database and transmits the data to the terminal 4 or the Web server 3.
