<p>A normal vector mapping section (108) maps the texture (118) of a mip-map level corresponding to the LOD (level of detail) of a polygon onto the polygon and creates a pseudo-normal vector on the polygon. A normal vector replacing section (110) replaces the pseudo-normal vector on the polygon with a quantized reference normal vector while referencing a VQ table (121) of the corresponding mip-map level. A brightness value acquiring section (112) references a CLUT (122) of the corresponding mip-map level, acquires the brightness value corresponding to the reference normal vector on the polygon, and interpolates the brightness value between the mip-map levels. A drawing section (104) combines the RGB values of each pixel on the polygon with the brightness values acquired by the brightness values acquiring section (112) and writes the result in a frame buffer (126).</p> |
