A method for the production of hollow structural components by wrapping a water-dispersible core made of water-soluble binder (I) and filler with reinforcing fibres, impregnating fibres and core with a curable plastic, curing the plastic and washing out the core with water, in which the binder (I) consists at least partly of condensed phosphate and/or magnesium sulfate.
