PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a catalyst electrode of high efficiency by optimizing diffusibility and the interface of three phases of a fuel in the catalyst electrode used for a fuel cell.
SOLUTION: The catalyst electrode 10 is comprised by forming a catalyst layer 14 by an electrolyte 13 and catalyst particles 12 which have been uniformly dispersed in a solvent and adjusted in advance on an electrode base material 11. At this time, on the electrode base material 11 side, because there are less amount of the electrolyte 13 and more vacant holes 15, diffusibility of the fuel is superior. Then, the amount of the electrolyte 13 increases and the hollow holes 15 decrease relatively from the electrode base material 11 side toward a conductive electrolyte film 2, and the interface of the three phases increases by this. According to this constitution, in the catalyst layer 14, a region superior in diffusibility of the fuel and a region much in the interface of three phases of high activity can be formed respectively in the thickness direction. Furthermore, in other examples, in the thickness direction of the catalyst electrode 10, a particle diameter of the catalyst particles 12 may be made smaller from the electrode base material toward the conductive electrolyte film 2.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
