<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method for lighted images of a display panel, which realizes accurate and high-speed inspection, even when the screen as a whole is shifted from white, or the background being an object to be compared with an evaluation point is shifted from white, in a lighted image inspection of the display panel. <P>SOLUTION: The inspection method comprises a step of obtaining image data, by photographing the screen of the display panel using a photographing means; a step of carrying out a color shift balance compensating process which compensates the image data so that variation quantities among image data of arbitrary evaluation points in the screen and the image data of prescribed regions around them become color shifted quantities from white; a step of computing the chroma values from images obtained by carrying out the color shift balance compensating process; and a step of evaluating the image of the display panel by using the chroma values. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
