<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an induction heating device capable of heating an object to be heated that is made of a material having a low permeability and a high electrical conductivity, reducing buoyancy exerted on the object to be heated, and causing a low loss. <P>SOLUTION: The induction heating device comprises: a main body 1 forming an enclosure; a top plate 2 provided at the top of the main body 1 for placing an object to be heated 8 thereon, the object 8 being made of a low permeability material having a high electrical conductivity; a heating coil 3 provided below the top plate 2 for induction-heating the object to be heated 8; and an electrical conductor 11 provided between the heating coil 3 and the object to be heated 8. Because of the effect of an induction current induced inside the electrical conductor 11, the electrical conductor 11 has a buoyancy-reducing function to reduce buoyancy exerted on the object to be heated 8 due to a repulsive force between a magnetic field generated by the heating coil 3 and a magnetic field generated by an induction current induced in the object to be heated 8. The thickness of the electrical conductor 11 is made smaller than the depth of penetration of a high frequency current induced by the current flowing through the heating coil 3.
