PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel having a new structure. SOLUTION: The display panel includes a first substrate; a second substrate arranged oppositely to the first substrate; first barrier ribs arranged between the first and second substrates to partition a plurality of discharge cells; a pair of discharge electrodes arranged to extend along one direction in the first barrier ribs to generate surface discharge in the cells; phosphors layers arranged in the cells; and discharge gas in the cells.
