PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce sealing displacement between a front face base board and a back face base board in adhesion between them for displaying a high quality image. SOLUTION: This image display device is provided with a front face base board 1 having a positive electrode, a phosphor layer 61, a metal back film 62, and a black matrix film 63 on the inside face, a back face base board 2 having a plurality of negative electrode lines 51 and a plurality of electron sources 52 respectively formed to the negative electrode lines 51 on the inside face and arranged face to face with the front face base board at a predetermined interval, a support frame 3 inserted around a display area formed between the both base boards for holding the predetermined interval, and a plurality of spacers 4 inserted between the both base boards inside the display area and fixed between the front face base board 1 and the back face base board 2 via fixing members 11a and 11b. A space between one face of the support frame 3 and the front face base board 1 and a space between the other face of the support frame 3 and the back face base board 2 are hermetically sealed via sealing members 10a and 10b. When the height of the spacer 4 is set to be higher than that of the support frame 3, the interval between the both base boards are controlled to be the height of the spacer 4.
