PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of reducing a reproduction error by suppressing a transient response of an AGC circuit, and to provide a defect processing method of the optical disk. SOLUTION: By this method, an error caused by a defect signal formed in a period of HS-HE is reducible to the utmost since a defect processing signal G for improving the detected defect signal is arranged so as to be generated for a period longer than that of the detection signal of the defect. Also, for example, when a reproduced RF signal is inputted to the AGC circuit, particularly the transient response of the AGC generated before and after the defect detection (before and after the period of D) can be suppressed.
