PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound input output apparatus capable of revising the number of microphones and speakers depending on positions of a talker and a listener located before the apparatus and grasping which of the microphones is usable. SOLUTION: The sound input output apparatus 2 is provided with a plurality of planar capacitor devices 11 arranged in a matrix form and collects/emits sound waves by activating each of the planar capacitor devices like the speaker or the microphone. Further, the sound input output apparatus 2 revises the number and the arrangement of the planar capacitor devices 11 acting like the speaker or the microphone depending on the positions of the talker and the listener. Moreover, each light emitting section 27 located in the vicinity of each of the planar capacitor devices 11 emits light when the planar capacitor device 11 is operated as the microphone and the color of a light emitting element 28 or the number of lighted light emitting elements 28 are changed depending on the sound volume of the sound waves collected by the planar capacitor devices 11.
