PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a fuel leakage which occurred on the low pressure side of a fuel supply system of a gas engine. SOLUTION: A fuel quantity on the high pressure side from a fuel tank 23 to a fuel pressure regulator 25 is computed based on the high pressure side fuel temperature and fuel pressure detected by a high pressure side fuel temperature sensor 28 and a high pressure side fuel pressure sensor 27, and a fuel quantity on the low pressure side from a fuel pressure regulator 25 to a fuel injection valve 19 is computed based on the low pressure side fuel temperature and fuel pressure detected by a low pressure side fuel temperature sensor 30 and a low pressure side fuel pressure sensor 29. The fuel decrease quantity of the whole fuel supply system within a predetermined period is obtained from a decrease quantity within the predetermined period of a total value of both fuel quantities on the high pressure side and low pressure side, or from a total value of decrease quantities of both fuel quantities on the high pressure side and low pressure side. Injection pulses are integrated for a predetermined period on all cylinders to compute a fuel consumption within the predetermined period, and the fuel consumption is compared with the fuel decrease quantity of the whole fuel supply system to determine the presence of a fuel leakage of the fuel supply system.
