PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biuret group-containing polyisocyanate composition which is especially suitable as a curing agent in coating compositions. SOLUTION: This biuret group-containing polyisocyanate composition having an isocyanate functional value of at least 4 is obtained by a method including a process for reacting a polyisocyanate addition product (a) produced from an aliphatic and/or an alicyclic diisocyanates, (b) having an average isocyanate functional value of at least 2.5, and (c) containing isocyanurate groups, with a secondary monoamine in an isocyanate : amine equivalent ratio of about 4:1 to 14:1 to incorporate the biuret groups into the polyisocyanate.
