PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely and effectively separate (unravel) bundle-like single-walled carbon nanotubes or single-walled carbon nanotubes (peapod) including fullerene into single-walled carbon nanotubes separated one by one in an organic solvent, and to provide the single-walled carbon nanotubes separated one by one so as to be used as various functional materials. SOLUTION: The bundle-like carbon nanotubes, wherein a plurality of single-walled carbon nanotubes are bonded, are separated into the single-walled carbon nanotubes separated one by one by charging the bundle-like carbon nanotubes into a tetrahydrofuran solvent containing octylamine and giving vibration to the solvent. The degree of the single-walled carbon nanotubes separated one by one, separated from the bundle-like single-walled carbon nanotubes, can be objectively confirmed by measuring absorption spectra with a spectrophotometer.
