PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holding device for an optical element to enable more accurate polishing treatment. SOLUTION: In the holding device for the optical element holding the optical element (2) during polishing treatment of the optical element (2), the optical element (2) contacts a pressure piece (9) constituted so as to distribute the force which is assumed inside of the optical element (2) during polishing treatment of the optical element (2).
