PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing optically activeβ-hydroxyamino acids capable of retrieving the D- or L-β-hydroxyamino acid deposited in the reaction liquid. SOLUTION: The method for producing the D- or L-β-hydroxyamino acid using an enzyme-active material is provided. That is, the method for retrieving the above D- or L-β-hydroxyamino acid by solubilizing the product deposited in the reaction liquid is established. By refining the optically activeβ-hydroxyamino acid thus retrieved, the objective compound can be obtained efficiently. Thus, the optically activeβ-hydroxyamino acids useful as intermediates for pharmaceuticals or agrochemicals can be efficiently produced on an industrial scale. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
