PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device for wheel capable of preventing an inner ring from coming off by vibration in a period from the delivery to the assembly thereof without causing hoop stress in the inner ring in use and also capable of securing the abutted area of the inner ring on the outer ring of a constant velocity joint. SOLUTION: This bearing device for wheel comprises an outer member 1 having double rows of rolling surfaces 3 on its inner periphery, an inner member 2 having rolling surfaces 4 facing these rolling surfaces 3, and double rows of rolling elements 5 interposed between the opposed rolling surfaces 3 and 4, and supports drive wheels. The inner member 2 comprises a hub wheel 9 having a flange 9a for mounting a wheel and an inner ring 10 fitted to a stepped inner ring fitting part 9b formed on the outer periphery of the inboard side part of the hub wheel 9. The rolling surfaces are formed on the hub wheel 9 and the inner ring 10. Circular grooves 12 and 13 are formed in the outer diameter surface of the hub wheel 9 near the inner ring fitting part 9b and the outer diameter surface 10a of the inner ring near the outer diameter surface.
