PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid filter having a module type housing, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: In a fluid filter assembly 20 includes a filter element 24 selected from a plurality of filter elements different in size, a filter housing 22 includes an inlet housing part 26, an outlet housing part 28 and one or a plurality of module type housing parts 30. The module type housing parts are positioned between the inlet housing part and the outlet housing part and the number of the module type housing parts included in the housing is determined according to the size of the filter element. This fluid filter assembly can be constituted so as to use the filter housing along with the respective filter elements different in size using the substitute number of the module type housing parts.
