PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plated steel sheet for a battery container capable of making a battery having superior battery characteristics by increasing adhesiveness with a positive electrode mixture of an alkaline battery by generating minute cracks when forming into a battery container by applying drawing process or drawing and ironing process, and having superior leak resistance of an electrolytic liquid by suppressing generation of gas inside the battery container, a battery container using the plated steel sheet for the battery container, and a battery using the battery container. SOLUTION: After applying nickel plating on the side to become the inner face of a battery container of steel plate, diffusive heat treatment is applied, and thereby iron-nickel alloy layer is formed on the steel plate or furthermore a nickel layer is formed on top of it, and a dispersed plating layer dispersed with fine carbonaceous substance is formed, and furthermore a silver layer is formed and the plated steel sheet for the battery container is made.
