PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a paper jam and/or image failure by using paper before the paper stored in a paper feeding cassette deteriorates. SOLUTION: A plurality of paper feeding cassettes 22a to 22c can be attached to and detached from a device body 11, and an image is formed on recording paper by selectively feeding the recording paper from the paper feeding cassettes. When feeding the paper, time data is provided by monitoring elapsed time after setting the paper feeding cassette in the device body, and the recording paper is fed by selecting the paper feeding cassette in response to the time data.
