PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long object whirling preventing tool, simply attached and detached to and from a general purpose lathe, and easily adjusted to a material size. SOLUTION: This whirling preventing tool capable of preventing whirling of a long material in turning equipment includes: a preventing tool body connected to the turning equipment; at least three movers movably supported on the preventing tool body and supporting the outer periphery of the long material; an adjuster capable of moving the mover and screw-connected to the preventing tool body; and an elastic body provided between the movers and the preventing tool body and energized in the direction of separating the movers from the long material.
