PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lancet production method by which a load to be applied to a puncturing needle in molding is reduced, while reducing the number of components, and to provide a lancet. SOLUTION: The lancet 10 includes a lancet body part 12 which is integrally molded with a cap 13. An insertion hole 12c communicated with the inner part of the cap 13 from the rear end of the lancet body part 12 is formed in the lancet 10. The puncturing needle 11 is inserted into the insertion hole 12c from the distal end part of the needle (step S1). After positioning of the puncturing needle 11 which is inserted into the insertion hole 12c is performed in the insertion direction (step S2), the puncturing needle 11 is fixed to the lancet body part 12 by the use of an adhesive A (step S3).
