AN ARRANGEMENT FOR SUPPORTING A PERSON OR ANIMAL

An arrangement for supporting a person or animal which comprises a support structure and a flexible membrane (11). The support structure comprises a peripheral frame (2, 4) and an anchor-region (6, 7) located substantially lower than the peripheral frame (2, 4) when the arrangement is in use. The membrane (11) has dimensions greater than that of the peripheral frame and is drawn across the frame (2, 4) to define a support surface within the periphery of the frame (2, 4). A plurality of tethers are provided connected between the edge of the membrane and the anchor-region (6) to retain the membrane in position across the frame (2, 4) with sufficient tension to support a person or animal.
