<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a pressure clamp type connector with a low height for reducing compression stress loaded to a microphone of a portable acoustic instrument. <P>SOLUTION: The pressure clamp type connector is constructed of a resin housing, a conductive pin fitted slidably in a through-hole arranged in the housing, a conductive cap inserted and fixed in the housing, and coil spring clamped between the conductive pin and the conductive cap. On the end face, in which the bottom face of the conductive pin faces the coil spring, a notch part is formed. The upper face of a flange part in the conductive pin lower part and the lower face of a small-diameter part the in the upper part of the through hole formed in the housing are brought into contact with each other by means of resilient force of the coil spring when no load is applied, and the upper face of the flange part and the lower face of the small-diameter part are formed into mutually fitting conical or spherical faces. By means of this pressure clamp type connector, an electrode of the microphone and that of a wiring board are electrically connected together.
