PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the positioning of a search unit for capturing a desired image in a remote diagnosis to be executed at low cost with expedition. SOLUTION: This invention is to provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus which is equipped with a communication section for executing the data communication with a remote directive apparatus located in a remote place, the search unit for irradiating a subject with an ultrasonic wave and receiving a reflected wave, an ultrasonic transmission-reception section for transmitting the ultrasonic wave to the probe and receiving an echo signal to generate ultrasonic scanning data, an indication display section for displaying the indication from the remote directive apparatus by a notation of a letter, a numeral, a mark or a symbol, and a control section which makes the indication display section display the indication from the remote directive apparatus when it receives the indication through the communication section and transmits the ultrasonic scanning data generated by the ultrasonic transmission-reception section to the remote directive apparatus through the communication section when the subject operates the search unit following the direction.
