PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress occurrence of a display defect caused by a rubbing line. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display is provided with an array substrate AS. The array substrate AS is provided with an insulating substrate IS1 having a quadrilateral display region and a peripheral region surrounding the display region which are regulated in one principal surface of the insulating substrate, a pixel electrode group PEG disposed on the display region, a transfer pad PD1 including first and second belt like parts BP1 and BP2 disposed on the peripheral region along two mutually adjacent sides of the display region respectively, and an alignment layer AL1 with which the pixel electrode group PEG is coated.
