PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make downsizing of an image forming apparatus and speedup of photographing speed coexist, and to ensure an excellent quality of photographing even when the photographing is performed at a high speed. SOLUTION: A releasing member 14 for releasing a thermal transfer ink sheet 31 and a photographic paper 21 is fitted on a head main body 11b of a thermal transfer printing head 11. A thermal insulating member 16 which does not transmit a heat generated from an exothermic element 11a of the thermal transfer printing head 11 to the releasing member 14 is inserted between the head main body 11b and the releasing member 14 to suppress the temperature increase of the releasing member 14. By this configuration, the thermal transfer ink sheet 31 is easily released from the photographic paper 21 after photographing. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
