PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate fear for the leaking out of an internal pressure by reducing the volume of a step gap occurring on an endless annular body. SOLUTION: This internal pressure retaining member to be applied to a hollow annular air bag is manufactured through a process in which a cylindrical member 3 is constituted by overlapping and bonding respective side sections of a non-vulcanized rubber sheet 1 of a specified width to each other, and a process in which the endless annular body is formed by overlapping and bonding both end sections of the cylindrical member 3 to each other. When the internal pressure retaining member is manufactured, the thickness of the respective side sections of the non-vulcanized rubber sheet 1 which are overlapped and bonded to each other is gradually reduced to the side edge 2 side. At the same time, respective side edges 2 of the non-vulcanized rubber sheet 1 are formed by linearly extending at a specified tilting angle (θ) to the length direction of the rubber sheet.
