PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature detector of a molding machine which stably controls the temperature (resin temperature) of the inner peripheral surface desired to be originally controlled in a heating cylinder or the like with high precision and also contributes to energy saving. SOLUTION: The temperature detector 1 of the molding machine M is constituted by providing heaters 4, etc. to the outer peripheral surface 2f of the heating cylinder 2 (or a nozzle 3), attaching a cylindrical sensor holder 6 to the sensor insertion hole 5 with a predetermined depth formed from the outer peripheral surface 2f toward the inner peripheral surface 2i of the heating cylinder 2 so as to protrude it from the outer peripheral surface 2f, and inserting a temperature sensor 7 having a temperature detecting part 7ds provided to its leading end in the sensor insertion hole 5 and the sensor holder 6. This temperature detector has a heat insulating structure A for cutting off radiations Fr, etc. to the outside through the sensor holder 6 by covering at least the outer peripheral surface 6f of the sensor holder 6 with a heat insulating member 8a.
