PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hammer drill, restraining deformation of a switching pin for switching a mode in low-cost constitution. SOLUTION: This hammer drill includes: an intermediate shaft 14 rotated by the drive of a motor; a clutch 2 spline-connected to the intermediate shaft 14 and slidable in the axial direction of the intermediate shaft 14; and the switching pin 41 for pressing the clutch 2 in the axial direction. In order to restrain the switching pin 41 from being deformed due to frictional heat generated between both members: the switching pin 41 and the clutch 2, an intermediate member 3 sliding to both members are provided between both members.
