<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the practicability of a vehicular steering system. <P>SOLUTION: A steering lock device 108 provided in a driving force transmission mechanism 64 of a steering system 10 has a locking mechanism 110 to lock a projecting part 104 projecting sidewise from an inner disk 90 of a worm wheel 82. The smooth transmission of the driving force can be ensured by providing the projecting part without reducing the coupling force of a supporting part between a resin-made outer ring 92 and the inner disk. More specifically, the projecting part is cylindrical, a recessed part 106 is formed in a projecting end, and the recessed part is locked by a rod 114 of a solenoid 112. In addition, a seal 122 can be provided as a means of separating a space 120 in which the projecting part of the driving force transmission mechanism is present from an engagement part of a worm 80 with the worm wheel 82. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
