PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load variation compensating device that suppresses size, weight, and cost per superconductive power storage device, and that has a harmonics controlling function and a load variation compensation controlling function. SOLUTION: The load variation compensating device 28 is made up of a systematically interconnecting transformer 25; a plurality of superconductive power storage devices 27 consisting of a transformer 2 for a converter, an AC-DC converter 3, and a superconductive coil 4; a harmonic AC filter 13; a control circuit 7 that inputs a system voltage detection signal 20, a system current detection signal 21, an AC filter voltage detection signal 22, a load current detection signal 23, and a DC current detection signal 24 to perform a control of making the active and reactive power of a system constant; a system voltage detection circuit 15; a system current detection circuit 16; a load current detection circuit 18; and a DC current detection circuit 19.
