The invention relates to a recombiner (1) comprising a recombination device (2) for the catalytic recombination of hydrogen and oxygen created in accumulators to form water. The aim of the invention is to improve a recombiner (1) oriented especially lengthwise in relation to the accumulator in such a way that the recombination device (2) is not soaked as a result of the dripping of the water condensed on the container inner wall of the recombiner. To this end, the inventive recombiner (2) is characterised in that the recombination device carries a screen element (5).
