A truck or heavy commercial vehicle has one or more axles with steerable wheels moving on a kingpin through a pre-defined arc. The kingpin is located in close proximity to a sensor (4) that determines the present angular position of the wheel hub. The sensor is linked by a suitable data cable to e.g. a display or signal processing unit.
