The valve for liquid containers (100) comprises a flexible conical seal (3) mounted over an outlet (3b) in the base of the container. This can move from a position where its inlet (3a) is at the maximum desired liquid level (107) to a second position where its inlet (3'a) is below the base of the container to drain it. An independent claim is included for cooking appliances fitted with the valve.
