<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peer-to-peer content distribution system for preventing the unauthorized use of a content and reproducing the content till a prescribed time elapses even when a network failure occurs. <P>SOLUTION: When an event notification fails (NO in S214), each peer 20 immediately stops the reproduction of the content even during the reproduction of the content (S221) and prohibits the reproduction of the content (S222). When a re-try interval time elapses even after the reproduction of the content is prohibited (YES in S223), the event notification is restarted (S213). When the notification is successful (YES in S214), the prohibition of the reproduction of the content is released (S227).
