<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust device capable of suppressing ozone and VOC (volatile organic compound) exhausted from the inside of an image forming apparatus main body to the outer part and prolonging a replacement period of the exhaust device. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust device 10 is disposed on the left side wall M1 of the image forming apparatus main body and, thereby, air in the apparatus main body is exhausted. The exhaust device 10 has a duct 101, to which a dustproof filter 102, an ozone filter 103, a motor fan 104 and a VOC oxidation catalyst filter 105 are attached in the order from the upstream side along the flow direction of air A. The VOC produced when fixing a toner image on a coating paper is, at first, mechanically eliminated according to adsorption with the ozone filter 103 on the upstream side and, subsequently, is chemically eliminated according to oxidation with the VOC oxidation catalyst filter 105 on the downstream side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
