<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AC power supply apparatus which can safely and positively carry out transition from a power generatable condition capable of generating AC voltage to be output to an external AC load to a travelable state of a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: When a start switch is operated in a power generation mode, a system is stopped. When the external AC load is removed from a connector 50, a control device 60 transfers an operation mode to a neutral mode.
