PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connection method and a connection device for a network, capable of preventing illegal use of the network connection device connectable to a desired server device by only connecting it to the client device.

SOLUTION: An external connection storage means as a network connection device is provided with a generation means generating a license code. Only when the first license code generated by the generation means and a second license code inputted from an input means of the client device accord, a part or all of programs is copied to a storage means of the client device.
