<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective structure in which an optical fiber is not damaged when an external force is imparted to the optical fiber, in which no separation takes place between a housing case and a sealant, and in which reliability is excellent for a long period, in the protective structure of an optical device such as an optical fiber coupler and an optical fiber grating. <P>SOLUTION: In the protective structure of an optical device such as an optical fiber coupler and an optical fiber grating, the problems are solved by using the protective structure characterized in that the housing case is surface treated with a silane coupling agent and, instead, in that the sealant is blended with the silane coupling agent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
