PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide ultrasonic diagnostic technologies to prevent the reduction of a frame rate when a bloodstream image and a Doppler spectrum image are displayed simultaneously or almost simultaneously. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus comprises a transmitting/receiving means for transmitting ultrasonic waves to a subject and receiving reflection waves as echo signals, a Doppler spectrum image generating means including a process of extracting a Doppler offset frequency component and an FFT process for the echo signals, a bloodstream image generating means for generating a bloodstream image by applying processes including an auto-correlation process for the echo signals, and a scanning sequence setting means for displaying the bloodstream image and the Doppler spectrum image simultaneously or almost simultaneously by alternately transmitting/receiving signals for the bloodstream image and for the Doppler spectrum image. The scanning sequence setting means changes the current scanning sequence to the scanning sequence with the adjusted number of ensembles on the transmission/receiving for obtaining the bloodstream image so that the frame rate of the bloodstream image is not below a prescribed set value.
