PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold excellent igniting combustion performance by an ignition plug in a low-cost device of simple structure and to obtain a sufficient rising effect of knocking limit and an NO<SB>x</SB>reducing effect by the supply of EGR gas in a gas engine equipped with an EGR system constituted to ignite and burn mixed gas by the ignition plug. SOLUTION: This gas engine is constituted to supply the mixed gas of gas fuel and air into a combustion chamber from an air supply port 120 and to ignite and burn the mixed gas by spark discharge into the mixed gas by the ignition plug 120 provided in a combustion chamber 120. The gas engine is provided with an EGR gas jet passage 1 for jetting EGR gas (exhaust recirculation gas) diverged from exhaust gas in an exhaust passage, toward the outer peripheral part in the combustion chamber 120, and oxygen concentration at the outer peripheral part in the combustion chamber is made lower than oxygen concentration at a center part in the combustion chamber by the EGR gas jetted from the EGR gas jet passage 1.
