PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device of a vehicle for imparting optimum reaction of natural feeling to a steering wheel operation of a driver. SOLUTION: A displacement-torque converting part 41 calculates reaction torque Tzas a static spring characteristic. A steering speed-gradient limitation value converting part 42 calculates ascending gradient limitation value Mtupand descending gradient limitation value Mtdnas reaction torque limitation values depending on steering angular speed dθ/dt. A gradient limitation filter part 43 compares a value of the reaction torque Tzsupplied from the displacement-torque converting part 41, a value that the ascending gradient limitation value Mtupis added to reaction torque Tzpo(n-1)calculated the last time, and a value that the descending gradient limitation value Mtdnis subtracted from the reaction torque Tzpo(n-1)calculated the last time. The gradient limitation filter part 43 selects an intermediate value of each of these values. A dynamic spring characteristic of the reaction torque Tztherefore can be smoothly changed according to a change of the steering angular speed dθ/dt of the steering wheel 11.
