<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of correcting the clearance of a panel overlapping part excellent in workability. <P>SOLUTION: The clearance correcting device 1 used for the method for correcting the plate clearance is provided with: an inverter AC control device 2; a panel connection unit 3 to connect one electrode of the inverter AC control device 2 to a panel; and a gun type electrode 4 which is connected to the other electrode of the inverter AC control device 2 to correct the panel gap. In the clearance correcting method, the clearance can be corrected by a simple work of moving the gun type electrode while pressing it along the overlapping part of the panel. If the clearance correcting method is performed as a pre-step of the laser brazing, the laser welding or the like, the clearance can be reduced, and improper joining can be prevented in these joining steps.
