PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the convenience of an occupant by performing seat arrangement suitable for loading with baggage more easily than conventional one in an automobile V with the on-board seats 2 to 6 which can be changed in position. SOLUTION: When the starting operation of an automatic seat arrangement device is performed (step S32), the occupant reads in (S3) the information of the baggage to be loaded with from an IC tag or the like by a reader device 24 directed outside the vehicle, and reads in (S4) the information of the baggage already loaded with and accessories such as a child seat or the like from the IC tag or the like by the reader device 24 directed inside the vehicle. The seat arrangement capable of storing the whole of the load is roughly determined from the outside dimension and the weight or the like of the whole of the load adding the baggage already loaded with to the baggage to be loaded with, and the optimum seat arrangement is set (S6, S7) by adding the sitting status of the occupants recognizable from the child seat or the like.
