A data transmission system for enabling the user to stably acquire content in a peer-to-peer shared space by means of a portable telephone terminal. The data transmission system includes one or more portable telephone terminals, one or more PC terminals, a mobile communication network interconnecting the portable telephone terminals and the PC terminals, and the Internet. A directory server and message server are connected over the Internet. A peer-to-peer application is installed in the PC terminals, and a peer-to-peer network is built between the PC terminals. Thus, the PC terminals share a peer-to-peer space. A portable telephone terminal specifies one of the PC terminals with an FQDN (fully qualified domain) name registered in the dynamic DNS of the PC terminal, a virtual portable telephone terminal is created on the peer-to-peer application of the specified PC terminal and the portable telephone terminal is operated through the specified PC terminal by means of the virtual portable telephone terminal corresponding to the portable telephone.
