A tobacco smoking article, e.g. a tobacco smoke filter, cigarette or cigar, includes vitamin A. The vitamin A may be present in the article as a fine dispersion throughout the tobacco or the filter medium, or it may be present as a capsule containing vitamin A within the article said capsule being rupturable by the pressure of the fingers of a smoker on the outer surface of the article. A single capsule or a plurality of capsules may be employed and, in the latter case, small capsules may be located on the inner face of a filter casing or tipping paper.
