1,151,749. Bowling alley scoring apparatus. BRUNSWICK CORP. 9 Aug., 1967, No. 36512/67. Headings G4A and G4D. An electronic computer is coupled to a bowling alley, computing as required the scores of players and teams. A console for a pair of lanes comprises switches 52, 55 for setting up the number of players in each team who normally play in turn but can be skipped by means of switches 56, 59. A thumb wheel 49 permits a player to play out of turn. The operative lane is selected by switch 48 and observed pin-fall is entered by dial switch 71 or 72. When pin-fall is entered the individual player's existing score is taken out of a magnetic store and the appropriate ball, frame, player's total and team total scores are displayed in sequence on panel 90 at such a speed that an observer can copy them on to a sheet in conventional manner. Controls 62-67 provide for making corrections whereby information in the magnetic store can be adjusted.
