<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide adaptive power control of point-to-multipoint (PtM) service. <P>SOLUTION: Data are transmitted from a transmitter (54) to a plurality of receivers (56) via a specified channel. The specific channel is received at the plurality of receivers. Each of the receivers transmits power control information (52), based on a measured reception quality and reception quality requirements for each receiver, to the transmitter. The transmitter (38) uses the power control information from each receiver and adjusts the transmission power level of the specific channel, so that if any one of the receivers requires increase in the transmission power level for satisfying the quality requirements of that receiver, the transmission power level is increased, and if all the receivers exceed their quality requirements, the transmission power level is decreased. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
