<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking brake apparatus to be miniaturized. <P>SOLUTION: In the parking brake apparatus 1, a shaft 20 having a base end part 20a fixed to an operating handle 30 and a nose part 20b connected to a brake cable 2 is held so as to be surrounded by a base bracket 10, and the base bracket 10 includes a ratchet plate 40 extending along the longitudinal direction of the shaft 20 and having a ratchet 41. The shaft 20 includes a seizing and releasing mechanism connected to the brake cable 2, and capable of fixing the position of the shaft 20 with respect to the bracket 10 by seizing and releasing the ratchet 41, and a releasing mechanism to release the seizing and releasing mechanism to/from the ratchet 41. The seizing and releasing mechanism has a seizing pawl 52 to be seized/released to/from the ratchet 41, and an urging member to add the urging force in the direction of seizing the seizing pawl 52 to the ratchet 41 to the seizing pawl 52. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
