PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a folding type portable speaking unit in which a predetermined operation can be carried out more reliably through simple operation without opening/closing the case. SOLUTION: The folding type portable speaking unit comprises a case having a case element 201 and a case element 202 fixed rotatably to the case element 201 wherein the case elements 201 and 202 are folded relatively at the time of nouse and opened relatively at the time of use. A heat sensitive sensor 102 for detecting contact with human body is provided on the outside of the case elements 201, 202 and performs a predetermined processing, e.g. stopping alarm, when the case is in normal state and a decision is made that human body touched the case based on a signal from the sensor 102.
